We welcome you to apply for a place at Sydney Theatre School by completing the online application form below. There is no application or audition fee.
Alternatively, you can choose to have an application and information pack mailed to you via post. The completed application form can then be mailed to the Sydney Theatre School postal address.
We look forward to your audition and have outlined the following requirements to help you prepare for it.
We invite course applicants to perform two monologues – one from a contemporary play and one from a Shakespearean play. Why not visit our resources section and download a copy of our Audition Piece Suggestion Guide 2012 to review some of the School’s suggested performance pieces.
After the audition, selected applicants will be asked to undertake a short interview. Here, you will have the opportunity to talk us through your commitment to a career in the performing arts industry and ask any questions you may have about the course.
Auditions and interviews for the 2016 courses (commencing in January) will be held during November 2015.
Auditions are conducted at the school in Sydney, Australia. If you’re not able to be in Sydney for the audition you may submit an audition by video (CD, DVD, Memory Card or Online Multimedia). Simply tick the appropriate box on the application form to let us know that you will be using this audition method, then download a copy of our Video Audition Guidelines 2012 for detailed instructions.
While we appreciate that a passion for the arts knows no age limit, we do require that all applicants be aged 17 years or above by the commencement of the course.
